Passport and Visa Requirements

To enter the United Republic of Tanzania, visitors can obtain a visa either on arrival or via an eVisa applied for before travel.

Visa on Arrival

Recommended for travelers arriving within two weeks, if eligible.
You will need to complete a form and present your passport at the immigration counter.
Your passport must be valid for at least 6 months.
Visa fees: USD 100 for US citizens and USD 50 for other nationalities.

eVisa (Online Visa)

Apply via the official Tanzania Immigration website: https://eservices.immigration.go.tz/visa/
Complete the online form, make payment, and submit your application.
Application status can be tracked online, and notifications will be sent via email.
Only use the official government site to avoid scams or third-party charges.
Basic information required includes your email, passport number, passport-issuing country, and a security question before submitting your application.
Visa processing generally takes about 15 days, so plan accordingly.

Vaccination Requirements

COVID-19: Negative test certificate taken within 72 hours of arrival.
Yellow Fever: Required if traveling from high-risk countries or transiting for 6+ hours in these regions. Check the list here: CDC Yellow Fever Map

Visa Not Required
